Port Blair, Oct. 3: In a very unfortunate event, 73 youth (29 girls and 44 boys) of Andaman and Nicobar Islands were cheated by a Ghaziabad based company. M/s Anix Group of Companies, having its office in Indira Puram, Ghaziabad contacted the youth of the islands and promised to train them for personality development and thereafter guaranteed job offer with a salary of at least Rs. 10,000/- per month. For conducting the training programme, the Company also collected Rs. 40,000/- from each candidates. The company is being run by one Mr Animesh Chaudhary.

When the children from Islands reached Delhi and then to Ghaziabad on 30th September, 2012, they were amused to see that the company is non-existent and its office is also not properly furnished and maintained. On reaching their office, the children from Islands found that there is no arrangement for their lodging, food and training. The arrangements offered to the children were very shoddy. The training was supposed to start from 1st October, 2012.

Sensing the fraud, the children showed enormous strength and called Ghaziabad Police. Police swung into action and arrested Mr Animesh Chaudhary. Subsequently, the children also lodged FIR against the company and Mr Animesh Chaudhary with the Ghaziabad Police under section 420 and 417 of Indian Penal Code.

The children also called Ms Bhuneshwari Devi, Advocate and Mr Divya Jyoti Jaipuriar, Advocate of Human Rights Foundation, Port Blair, who also helped in lodging the FIR. They were in Delhi at that time and came immediately for the help and rescue of these children.

However the company officials were not ready to refund the money of these children, with the effort of Ms Bhuneshwari Devi, Mr Divya Jyoti Jaipuriar, Advocates, and Ghaziabad Police, the Company paid Rs. 3,500/- to every children so that they can make arrangement to return back to Islands. The arrangements were also made for the stay of these children in Delhi till they return to Islands. Mr Divya Jyoti Jaipuriar, Advocate informed that efforts are also made to ensure that the case is transferred to Port Blair so that the children do not have to come to Ghaziabad for the trial.

Meanwhile the all party delegation from the islands had also spotted the cheated youths and made arrangements for the boarding and lodging till their stay at New Delhi.
