Port Blair, Sept. 3: The PCC President Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has once again taken up the grievances of ANIFPDCL with the Hon’ble Prime Minister through a letter dated Sept. 1, 2012.  In his letter Sharma apprised of the misery of the regular employees of the Corporation, who have been deprived of the benefit of VIth Pay Commission and the industrial workmen who have not been given pay revision for the last 20 years, despite a settlement reached between the workmen and the management of ANIFPDCL in 2007.  The reason being delay in the proposed revival and restructuring of the Corporation.

Sharma further explained that the employees are worst hit by the 2004 Tsunami and are physically and psychologically disillusioned. The likely socio-economic fallout of having about 1500 such families comprising more than 5000 members would be grave and hard to contain including those directly dependent.

The PCC President has thus appealed to the PM for an expeditious clearance of the Cabinet proposal submitted by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration as regard to change of ownership of ANIFPDCL to Andaman Nicobar Administration.
