Port Blair, Sept. 12: 16 Kilos of Wild boar meat and 15 Kilos of Venison was recovered by the Humfrigunj Police on 11th Sept. 2012 which was in the possession of two persons namely G. Sekhar S/o Late Ganeshan, 25 R/o Indira Nagar and Deep Majhi, S/o Samnand Majhi, 22, servant of G Sekhar.
The recovery of the meat took place on 11th Sept. 2012 while the SHO PS Humfrigunj, SI T. Hemawathi along with her team were patrolling near Indira Nagar. On demand the two were not able to produce any valid documents/ permit on the spot and the materials were seized under section 50/51 Wildlife Protection Act 1972. The two arrested along with the materials were later handed over to the forest department of Manglutan Range for further legal action.
