Port Blair, April 17: The Annual Conference of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands was held at Atul Smriti Samity Hall, Port Blair on 16.04.2023. Shri M.S.Vengatesan, President, Income Tax Employees’ Federation, CHq., New Delhi inaugurated the Conference. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vengatesan criticized the present government’s retrograde policy to privatise all the government establishment while lakhs of posts in government departments are not being filled due to which the youths are unable to get jobs timely. He discussed in detail about the Confederations fight for various genuine demands of government employees including repealing of NPS and introduction of Old Pension Scheme. He informed that Confederation is going to intensify their struggle for the Introduction of Old Pension Scheme for all the govt. employees throughout the country. He urged all the employees under NPS to remain united in the fight for scrapping the NPS and introduction of Old Pension Scheme.

Port Blair, April 17: The Vessel MV Campbell Bay which sailed from Kolkata is expected to arrive at Mayabunder on April 18 at 1300 Hrs and at Port Blair on the same day at 2000 Hrs. She has on board about 122 passengers and 5 infants. On arrival at Port Blair, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

Port Blair, April 17: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep (Voy. No. 1038) will sail from Port Blair to Vizag on April 19 at 1000 Hrs. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 Hrs to 1600 Hrs on April 18 i.e. one day prior to sailing of the vessel. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0700 Hrs to 0800 Hrs on April 19. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel. The vessel will sail soon after the embarkation of passengers and completion of other formalities from Haddo wharf. The passengers arriving late will not be entertained to board the vessel.

Port Blair, April 16: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to construct a massive parking area with toilet blocks by dismantling all the unused quarters between Junglighat School Ground and old Junglighat jetty gate, where there are a large number of wooden government quarters are either discarded or are in a dilapidated condition.
