Port Blair, April 10: The A&N State Under 17 Chess Selection Championship 2023 which began at JNRM College Auditorium Port Blair concluded on 9th April 2023. The event was organised by Andaman Nicobar Chess Association in association with Kannada Sangha, Port Blair.

Port Blair, April 10: Several instances have come to the notice of the Transport Department that permit holders are not plying their auto rickshaws instead they are hiring drivers to ply their auto rickshaws which is a violation under section 66/192 (A) Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act, 2019. Apart from challan, the challan will be forwarded to RTO for suspension/cancellation of permit. This rule is enforced against those Auto rickshaw owners, on whose permit the above mentioned clause is stated.

Port Blair, April 10: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to allow residents to update documents in their Aadhaar online free of cost, a people-centric move that will benefit millions of residents. As part of Digital India Initiative, the UIDAI took the decision and is urging residents to get benefit of free document update facility on myAadhaar portal. The free service is available for the next three months i.e. 15th March, 2023 to 14th June, 2023.

Port Blair, April 10: To carry out urgent repair/dry docking of one of the vehicle ferry vessel, MV Mus presently providing services between Chatham & Bambooflat will be withdrawn from service with effect from 11th April, 2023 onwards. Due to the above withdrawal of the vessel MV Mus, services of only 2 vehicle ferry vessels will be available in the above route.

However, all out efforts are being made by the Directorate of Shipping Services for early completion of Dry Docking/repairs in time and to resume the service of MV Mus in the above route at the earliest on top priority.
