Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 9: To improve the oral health situation in the country, GoI has initiated a National Oral Health Programme to provide integrated, comprehensive oral health care in the existing health care facilities with the objectives to improve the determinants of oral health, to reduce morbidity from oral diseases, to integrate oral health promotion and preventive services with general health care system etc.

Ferrargunj, Feb. 9: Branch MSME-Development & Facilitation Office (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India), Sri Vijaya Puram in coordination with Andaman & Nicobar Administration organized an ‘Awareness Programme on PM Vishwakarma Scheme’ on Feb.6 at Community Management Training Centre, Ferrargunj for Prospective/Existing PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries & Traditional artisans and Craftspeople of 18 Trades covered under the PM Vishwakarma scheme.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 6: The much-anticipated Chess in School (CiS) Programme for primary school students was formally launched today by Shri Vikram Singh, Director of Education, A & N Administration, at GDMS Primary, Middle Point, Sri Vijaya Puram. The event kicked off with a ceremonial first move on the chessboard between Shri Vikram Singh, Director of Education, and R. Kashthuri Bhai, an international chess medalist from the islands, attended by Shri Sukurajan, Principal of GSSS Boys, Shri Wilfred Richfield, Headmaster of GDMS (P), and other officials from the Directorate of Education.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 6: In a significant step towards improving solid waste management in the islands, a multi- stakeholder consultation on ‘Effective Solid Waste Management for Zero Waste Islands” was successfully conducted on Feb. 5 ,2025 at Lemon Tree Hotel, Lamba Line, Sri Vijaya Puram. The consultation was organized by the ANET - Dakshin Foundation team in collaboration with the Department of Rural Development and with active support from the Department of Environment and Forest.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 6: In a remarkable display of sports excellence, Ms. Amrita Minj from Andaman & Nicobar Islands won Bronze Medal at 38th National Games held at Uttarakhand in the 2000 metre event women single scull category.
