Port Blair, March 2: In the recent past, landslides have occurred in some parts of ANI due to underground water pressure, rainfall in monsoon season, earthquake, human intrusion etc. which causes damage to infrastructures, blockage of roads, loss of properties & environment. To safeguard people against such disasters, the Director (Disaster Management), A&N Administration, Dr. Nitin Shakya has requested the residents of ANI to follow the Do's and Don’ts during landslides to save themselves and their properties.

Port Blair, March 2: Due to administrative reasons, the scheduled departure time of the vessel Nalanda for Little Andaman on March 4, 2023 has been postponed. Now, the vessel will sail for Little Andaman on the same day i.e. on March 4 at 2100 hrs instead of 0900 hrs from Haddo Wharf and the vessel will sail back to Port Blair on March 5, 2023 at 0700 hrs instead of March 4, 2023 at 2100 hrs from Little Andaman.

Port Blair, March 1:  With an aim to encourage and promote women Self Help Groups under DAY-NRLM scheme for marketing their handmade products/items, the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, has initiated a marketing platform for the SHGs. This initiative enables two/three SHGs to sell their Nicobari artefacts/handmade bamboo items, naturally produced coconut oil, cane, basket, pillow cover, Nicobari mats and others agriculture products through women Self Help Groups daily.

Port Blair, March 1: Recently the Directorate of Education, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, vide its Vacancy Notice dated 23.02.2023 bearing reference no. 8-10(1447)/ Edn/CCB/2018-2019/ Vol-II/1143 has notified 295 vacancies of Graduate Trained Teacher (GTT) and 244 vacancies of Primary School Teacher (PST) to be filled on 'Short Term Contract ' basis for a period from 01.07.2023 to 30.04.2024 or till such time regular appointments are made whichever is earlier.
