Port Blair, Aug 13: The Chairman and the Managing Committee of Nicobar Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NCCI) has congratulated Shri Lionel Nicomed of Chukchucha village on being appointed as the Chairperson of Tribal Council, Car Nicobar, along with Shri Regionald Watchful of Kimyos village as Vice Chairman, and Shri John Levy of Mus Village as Deputy Vice Chairman of the Council. 

Port Blair, Aug 13: In a move to improve the students’ career prospects, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved a proposal to allow students to pursue two degree programmes at the same time. One of the degrees has to be in the regular mode (college / University) and the other either in open and distance learning or online.  A student can pursue two degrees in different streams as well as from different institutions. In most of the news cases, the swab samples are taken after the patients show signs and symptoms. Unfortunately the test results are received only after a gap of 5 days and in many cases it goes upto 7 days.

Port Blair, Aug 11: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to implement the directions given by the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public  Grievances  & Pensions, Government of India regarding regularisation of absence period of Government servants from duty, which has happened due to nationwide lockdown.
