Port Blair, Aug. 23: MV Chouldari will sail for Diglipur on Aug. 24, 2023 at 0700 hrs from Phoenix Bay Jetty and will sail for Port Blair on 25.08.2023 at 0700 hrs from Diglipur. Passenger tickets will be issued to the general public from DSS e-ticketing portal/STARS Ticketing Counter. Further, the left out tickets, if any available will be issued to the general public one hour prior to departure of the vessel from Information Ticketing Counter.

It is brought to the notice of the general consumers and government departments that power supply will remain suspended at the following area on 23.08.2023 (Wednesday) from 0800 Hrs. to 1300 Hrs. in connection with urgent maintenance of Ring Main Unit (RMUs) at Delanipur

23.08.2023 (Wednesday) 0800 Hrs.-1300 Hrs.: Light House, Phoenix Bay, Fisheries Jetty area, Anarkali, Delanipur, Quarry Hill, Phongy Kyaung, Foreshore Road, Megapode, Teal House, Horticulture Road.     

The above mentioned schedule is tentative, if the work is completed before the schedule, feeders will be charged accordingly.

Port Blair, Aug 22: In the wake of the recent unfortunate collapse of the Panighat Jetty, the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded a comprehensive safety survey of all old jetties in the Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, the Member of Parliament said that the collapse of the Panighat Jetty, while resulting in no major injuries, has ignited serious concerns within people of these Islands.

Port Blair, Aug. 22: The Secretary (RD/Panch), Smti. Veditha Reddy, IAS along with Shri Aditya Kumar Asthana, Director (RD/Panch) visited the Training Centres of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) run by the Project Implementing Agencies (PIA) namely Sri Angalamman Trust situated at Birdline and Nalanda Educational Society situated at Dollygunj. The visit was aimed to assess the progress and impact of the project in providing skill development and employment opportunities to the rural youth of A&N Islands.
