Port Blair, Aug 9: Prayas JAC along with the Police Entertainment Team conducted a two-day awareness programme on POCSO Act 2012 at Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad School. The team were able to reach out to around 800 students. Ms. Marya Sheela and Mr. Vijay Kumar were the speakers on the occasion. The Police Entertainment Team also performed a skit to educate the children on POCSO Act.

Car Nicobar, Aug 9: An awareness program was organized at Car Nicobar in front of APWD Guest House by Car Nicobar Police under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav' - 'Meri Maati Mera Desh'. Car Nicobar, Aug 9: A small help can change someone’s life. On 09/08/2023, 67th batch cops noticed that a pregnant lady alongwith her family came from Nancowrie for delivery. She delivered a baby boy but her family members were roaming in tension outside of BJR Hospital Car Nicobar due to financial problems and they had no relatives in Car Nicobar.

Port Blair, Aug 9: Integrated STI, HIV TB and Hepatitis (ISHTH) Campaign was launched today at District Jail Prothrapur. The campaign was launched in the presence of Special Guests, Shri Vikram Singh, DANICS, Superintendent, District Jail, Prothrapur and Shri Rizwanullah, Deputy Secretary District Jail by the lighting of the lamp.

Dr Subrata Saha, Project Director, A&N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) welcomed the invitees, participants and the prison inmates.

Port Blair, Aug 9: As per the direction of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, the House to House visit by Booth Level Officers from 21.07.2023 to 21.08.2023 to verify all entries in the Voter lists of Andaman & Nicobar Parliamentary Constituency has already been started.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Binay Bhushan, IAS, held a meeting with the representatives of recognized & un-recognized political parties and informed them about the house to house visit (H2H) by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from 21.07.2023 to 21.08.2023 to verify the entries in the voter lists and sought their cooperation in creating mass awareness amongst the citizens of this Union Territory about the need to provide correct information to the BLOs regarding un-enrolled eligible citizens, prospective voters as well as dead and permanently shifted electors to make the electoral rolls pure, healthy, and inclusive in all aspects.
