Port Blair, Sept. 7: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka in the presence of the Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Wandoor, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SA), Assistant Commissioner (U/T) and elected and community representatives laid the foundation stones for three RURBAN projects in Wandoor for the Veterinary Sub-Centre, Open-Tupe Fish Market and Disabled Friendly Waiting Shed with toilet facility.

Port Blair, Sept. 7: In partial modification of Order No. 938 dated 31st August 2020, regarding the Guidelines of Unlock-4 and National directives for COVID-19 management for public and work places, the District Magistrate, South Andaman has altered the timings for the functioning of private office, workplaces, shops, markets, industrial and commercial establishment in South Andaman. Accordingly the working hours will be from 0700 hrs to 2000 hrs. the remaining contents of the said order shall remain the same. The order will come into force from 08/09/2020.

Port Blair, Sept. 7: Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands along with Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary (I/C) and other Senior Officers of the A & N Administration participated in the video conference chaired by Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji, Hon’ble President of India, on role of the National Education Policy-2020 in transforming Higher Education in India. Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Governors/Lt. Governors of States/UTs, Union/State Education Ministers and Vice-Chancellors of various Universities participated in the conference.

Port Blair, Sept. 7: In an Order issued today by the District Magistrate, South Andaman, in supersession of the earlier office order no. 864 dated 27th July 2020, the liquor vending shops under the South Andaman District shall be allowed to operate from 1000 hrs to 1400 hrs by following all the COVID-19 protocols in letter and spirit.

Port Blair, Sept. 7: The Inner Wheel Club of Port Blair on 3rd Sept. 2020 led by its President, Mrs Komal Anand handed over 5 Regulators for Oxygen Cylinders for Covid Care Center. The regulators were handed over to the Directorate of Health Services, which is to be used for the benefit of the patients dealing with COVID-19.
