Port Blair, Sept. 20: The Consumers Co-operative Stores Ltd (CCS Limited), the centrally sponsored Co-operative institution of the Union Territory of A&N Islands is on its way to renaissance with expansion of its business in a big way by applying radical changes in the business methods.

In  a meeting of  the  Managing Committee members and  employees  of the society held  today at 11.30 a.m  in the CCS Head Office at Aberdeen Bazar, Shri Abdul Siddique, Secretary declared  that at the  first instant, existing 4 branches of the society, i.e. Aberdeen Bazar, Bathubasti, Bambooflat and Wimberly Gunj will be  restarted as modern Self Service  Units  with all modern facilities and  fed with  almost all household  items on  offer prices. Further, the society will restart its wholesale sections at Aberdeen Bzar.  It has also been decided to open separate modern counters in all these branches for sea foods such as fish, prawns and other items. 

Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma,  Hon’ble members of Parliament who was present in the meeting stated that the present  Board of Directors of the Society is committed for the development of the society. He advised the employees to cooperate with the Managing Committee and put in full efforts for execution of various developmental plans on war footing. Shri K. Ganesan, CCS Monitoring Committee member, Shri Abdul Rasheed, ARCS were also present in the meeting. 

Smti. Pushpanjali Raju, Chairman, CCS Limited delivered welcome address and Shri P. Vemanna, Vice Chairman proposed the vote of thanks to all the participants of the meeting.
