Port Blair, Dec. 28: Renowned Odissi Classical Dancer Vidushi Madhavi Mudgal performed at ITF today. Her performance was complemented by instrumentalists and percussionists Suresh Kumar Sethi (Vocal), Shalakha Rai (Dancer & Student of Madhavi Mudgal), Kiran Kumar(Flute), Jitendra Kumar Swain(Pakhawaj) and Yar Mohammed(Sitar). The group from Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) delighted the gathering with their graceful performance at ITF Ground here this evening.

Ms Mudgal with her graceful movements made it seem so seamless and each step was well coordinated and also had the force of conviction. The costumes were exquisite and perfectly matched the performance.    She took the audience on an enchanting journey of Odissi dance form and its related aspects which was an eye opener on Indian classical dance. The evening began with an invocation to Lord Jagannath followed by Vasant (Kalidas), Oriya Abhinaya and Pallavi Shankarabharnam Pallavi) a duet by Mudgal and Shalakha Rai. Pallavi (Arabi Pallavi) solo performance by Shalakha Rai (Dancer & Student of Madhavi Mudgal) delightedg the gathering, who encouraged the artistes with loud applause.
