Port Blair, Jan 23: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) on the 23rd of January, 2024, organized a Mass Protest in front of Gandhi Statue, Port Blair under the dynamic leadership of the ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder and the Campaign Committee Chairman Shri. TSG Bhasker to condemn the orchestrated violent attacks on the convoys of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra by the BJP-led Modi government of Assam.

The demonstration unfolded in front of the Gandhi Statue, Port Blair where the Congress Party Leaders reaffirmed their commitment to democratic principles and the peaceful expression of dissent.

The protest was aimed to draw attention to the incidents held during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra of Rahul Gandhi Ji in Assam, emphasizes the importance of free expression and democratic rights.

Later, the effigy of Shri. Himanta Biswa Sarma was burned in front of Gandhi Statue while Congress Leaders raised slogans against the most corrupt Chief Minister in the Country.

The presence of Senior leaders, Frontal Organizations, ANTCC Department, Congress PBMC Councilors, PRI Members and Workers of Congress Party at the forefront underscored their commitment to safeguarding democratic norms and advocating for justice. This demonstration not only symbolized a stand against perceived government-led aggression but also showcased the ANTCC's active role in fostering civic engagement and defending democratic ideals in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
