Port Blair, Jan 28: Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has voiced a pressing concern regarding the absence of battery backup in BSNL mobile towers in the Shoal Bay 8 area.

Numerous residents of Shoal Bay 8 have brought to the attention of the Member of Parliament about the challenges they face due to the lack of battery backup in the BSNL mobile towers. This issue becomes particularly severe during power outages, resulting in a complete breakdown of mobile networks. Such disruptions pose a significant risk as they hinder the ability to seek help during emergencies, including fire or medical issues.

Recognizing the vital role that mobile communication plays in daily life, especially during unforeseen crisis, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has urgently requested the Chief General Manager of BSNL, A & N Circle, to take immediate action. The Member of Parliament has emphasized the need to rectify the fault and install necessary battery backup in all BSNL mobile towers in Shoal Bay, with special attention to Shoal Bay 8, given its remote and far-flung location.

He asserts that ensuring the availability of battery backup will provide much-needed relief to the residents of Shoal Bay 8, guaranteeing uninterrupted mobile services even during power cuts.
