Port Blair, April 8: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has prepared and released a Joint Action Plan on “Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse among Children and Illicit Trafficking”.

It is imperative to issue necessary directions to all the medical shops who are selling the schedule “H”, “H1” and “X” drugs for monitoring their sale.

Therefore, the District Magistrate in exercise of the power conferred upon him under section 133 Cr. P.C, has directed the following for strict compliance.

-All the Medical Stores/ Chemist/ Pharmacy shops under the jurisdiction of South Andaman District who are selling schedule “H”, “H1” and “X” drugs are hereby directed to install CCTV Camera inside and outside their shops.

-Time period of one month is being given to all the Medical Stores/Chemist/Pharmacy shops owner for installation of CCTV Cameras.

-Footage of such cameras shall be randomly checked by State Drug Controller Authority (DHS, Port Blair) and the Child Welfare Police Officer at any time.

-In case any Medical Shop Owner fails to comply with these directions appropriate legal action shall be taken against his/her.

Concerned designated Officers shall execute this order with the respective jurisdiction with the help of Police and Drug Inspector and submit their reports accordingly.
