Port Blair, April 24: The State Child Protection Society, under Directorate of Social Welfare, recently organized a Life Skill Education Awareness Program at Darussalam Yatheem Khana. The program aimed to empower and educate children under the care and protection of Child Care Institutions (CCI) about essential life skills. The program saw participation of all children. These children were enthusiastic and eager to learn valuable life skills that would help them navigate through various challenges in life.

Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Social Welfare), emphasized the significance of life skills and advocated for the continuous implementation of such programs across all Child Care Institutions (CCIs). He stressed the importance of raising awareness among children and encouraged active participation in initiatives aimed at fostering positive impacts.

During the program, Smt. Rehaneth Begum, Program Manager, State Child Protection Society (SCPS) highlighted the importance of Life Skill Education. She explained how acquiring such skills can profoundly impact an individual's overall development and success in life; additionally, she provided drawing kits to all children.

The program focused on several key areas viz. Communication: Teaching children how to express themselves effectively and listen actively. Problem Solving: Equipping them with skills to solve problems independently and Emotional Intelligence: Helping them understand and manage emotions. Etc.

Speaking on behalf of the CCI home, Shri P.K. Mohammed Ali, In-Charge expressed gratitude to the State Child Protection Society (SCPS) for organizing the event and emphasized the critical role of such programs in assisting children under the care and protection of CCIs to develop into independent individuals capable of leading fulfilling and productive lives.
