Port Blair, April 29: Two POCSO Cases, FIR No. 66/21 dtd 30/07/2021 U/s 5(m)(n)(l)/6 of POCSO Act 2012 r.w.s 506 IPC and FIR No. 82/21 dtd 09/09/2021 U/s 5(l)/06 of POCSO Act 2012 r.w.s 506 IPC were registered at PS Pahargaon against accused R Muniya Swamy and were investigated by SI Silpi Singha and then SI Gracefield respectively.

On 22/03/2024, Sh. Bhawani Shanker Sharma, Hon’ble Additional Sessions Judge –Cum- Special Court (POCSO Act), South Andaman District, Port Blair has delivered a significant judgment in the above cases of PS Pahargaon sentencing the accused R Muniya Swamy to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 50,000/-.
