Port Blair, March 11: Responding to the letter of PCC President, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma to the Chief Secretary proper health care facilities in the Health Centres, the Assistant Secretary (Health), A&N Administration has informed that arrangements has been made for the visit of Gynaecologist with portable ultra sound machine.

It was further informed that due to shortage of specialist doctors, no paediatrician is posted in the CHC Diglipur, as such incubator has not been provided in the institution. However Paediatric stabilizer units are made available in all the CHC and PHCs.

The Assistant Secretary also informed that in order to meet the requirement of specialists, the Ministry is sending GDMOs having PG qualification/specialist to these islands on rotational basis for a period of 3 months. However the Admn. has requested the Ministry to post specialist for a period of atleast one year to extend patient care to the needy people in the field, due to the fact that all the specialist post has been encadred to CHS. 

Tele-medicine facility has been made available at CHC, Diglipur and an X-ray technician (Radiographer) has been posted at CHC Diglipur.
