Port Blair, Dec. 26: The ITF Ground at VIP Road is all set to come alive with pomp and show as the five days gala event, Island Tourism Festival -2023 organized by A&N Administration is set to begin tomorrow (Dec.27). Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands & Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) as the chief guest will inaugurate the festival at the ITF Ground at 4.30 pm. The inaugural programme will also be graced by the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chief Secretary (I/C), A&N Administration, Shri Nikhil Kumar, IAS, senior officers from the Administration.

Port Blair, Dec. 26: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands took a significant step towards women's health and hygiene by distributing free sanitary pads in Wandoor, Hasmatabad and Guptapara villages. During these events, Health Awareness Camps were organized, focusing on rural women's well-being. Large number of village women and girls attended the programme.

Scientists from all over the world have prominently referred to the scientific research work of Indian scientist Dr. Ajai in their research papers related topics like Medicine, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immune System, Multidisciplinary, Zoology, Aquaculture, Marine Gastropoda, Taxonomy and diversity of species.

Port Blair, Dec. 26: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, today led the Islanders in paying homage to those who lost their lives in the devastating Tsunami of 2004.
At a solemn function organized by A&N Administration on the occasion of 19th Anniversary of Tsunami at the Tsunami Memorial at Water Sports Complex here, the Chief Secretary placed wreath and offered floral tributes at the Memorial. This was followed by offering of floral tributes by DGP, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva(IPS), PCCF, Dr. T.S Ashok Kumar(IFS), Chairperson, PBMC, Smti S Selvi, Councillors of PBMC, Senior Officers of A&N Administration, prominent citizens, school students and general public.

New Delhi, Dec. 26: Shri M. Vinod, President Andaman Association of Tour Operators was awarded with the prestigious Atal Samman Award-2023 by Atal Foundation, New Delhi.
The award was presented in a function organised by Atal Foundation at the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, New Delhi India on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 25th December 2023.
