Death Condoled

Police Recovers Ganja from Post Office at Campbell Bay

Port Blair, July 19: On receipt of information from the Post Office, Campbell Bay on 15.07.2019 at about 1200 hrs. regarding suspicious material in a parcel. A team was formed under the supervision of the SDPO Campbell bay comprising of SHO PS C/Bay, HC/Praveen, PC/Dhanraju, PC/A Sumathi & HG/Karmegam to put a trap to apprehend the persons involved in such illegal activity. Later on, two persons reached the Post Office and collected the parcel. When they were coming out from the Post Office the Police party intercepted them and conducted personal search of the persons and recovered 255 gms of illicit Ganja from a sealed cover. On interrogation, both the accused confessed to the offence and informed their names as (1) Rijuyan Halder S/o Samsuddin Halder (21 yrs.) & (2) M Shankar S/o Late T S Manmad Nair (37 yrs.) both R/o Campbell Bay. They were arrested after observing all codal formalities. 

Further, general public are hereby requested to pass any kind of such information and illegal activities over Phone No. 03192-264210 & 100. The name of informer shall be kept secret and he/she shall reward suitably for passing such useful information.

Olympiad Alert!

New Delhi, July 19: With intent to make young learners familiar with the art of understanding and managing money from last 7 years, International Financial Olympiad for students by International Institute of Financial Markets (IIFM) and Economic Times for class 8th to 12th will be held across the country. IFO has catered to more than 48,000 students in 162 cities and 5 countries to promote financial literacy for students at school levels in the span of 7 years. Apart from having association with over 1000 schools in India. The Olympiad will be conducted in three rounds. 

Students registering at National and International level competition have an added advantage as they get an Internationally recognized certification at every level and a chance to compete for Rs. 1.6 Lakh cash scholarship prizes including Rs 60000 for School toppers and Rs 1,00,000 for Regional toppers and become a ‘Financial Literate’ at a young age. The IFO 2019 incorporates application from school students from class 8th to 12th and the registrations are open till 30th August, 2019. Students can participate from Schools or individually through the website www.financeolympiad.in.
