Greenos of Sabari Participate In Walkathon

                 

Rangat, Nov. 22: As a part of conducting National Environmental Awareness Campaign 2010-11, a Walkathon was arranged by the GREENO ECO Club of GSSS Sabari on 21st Nov. 2012, which was participated by the Greenos and teachers of the School. Greenos carried banners, placards and posters starting from the school premises passing through the main ATR road of Sabari village covering a distance of 1 KM.

The theme of the walkathon was “Biodiversity Conservation”. Greenos shouted slogans to protect environment, saving biodiversity, minimize the use of plastics and use alternatives for poly bags.

The walkathon was flagged off by off by Shri P Prasad, Zilla Parishad Member, Rangat. He appreciated the Greenos for taking such initiatives to protect environment and appealed to protect our rich biodiversity and to spread the message.

Earlier Principal of the school welcomed the chief guest and the gathering. He lauded the efforts taken up by the Greenos and appealed them to be careful and responsible towards their environment. Shri Bency Joy, Programme Coordinator of NEAC- 2012 conducted by GREENO ECO CLUB of GSSS Sabari briefed the action and awareness related activities planned by the ECO Club under NEAC Campaign 2012.

Earlier a Placard making competition was held on 20.11.2012 in which Rozalin Tirkey X A, Baby Sneha X B and V Abhishek IX A  bagged the first three positions respectively.
