Port Blair, May 20: There is a huge demand for Andaman Guest Houses in New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Vishakapatanam. The passengers, medical refer cases, higher education seeking students, government servants on duty, sports persons and tribals of the Islands have been feeling the need to have guest houses near the airports at Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata.

It is also a fact that in Vishakapatanam, there are no Andaman Guest Houses despite the operation of airlines and shipping services for Vishakapatanam from Port Blair. The Islanders especially the Telugu Community will definitely reap its benefits. Further the rule of restriction in occupation of room for merely three days to individuals who are under treatment also needs to be revised considering the seriousness of medical cases.

Taking up the issue with the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament, Bishnu Pada ray explaining the details has requested that Online booking system may also be implemented in Delhi and Kolkata as done in the case of Chennai for better accessibility and transparency. He further demanded that additional Andaman Houses in Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata may be thought about apart from having a Andaman House at Vishakapatanam.
