Port Blair, Aug 13: A large number of CTET qualified candidates who crossed age limit for the post of PST interacted with Shri BishnuPada Ray, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands for seeking age relaxation of 33 years for male and 38 years for female candidates. The MP immediately took up the matters with the Lt. Governor for consideration of age relaxation.

Similarly, the Member of Parliament also took up the matter to accept of the certificates issued by the private schools for applying to the post of PST whose certificate was denied to accept due to non-endorsement of countersign by the concerned DEO.

Since the last for applying to the post of PST is going to be completed on 14.08.2018 and as such, Bishnu met with the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Chetan Bhusan Sanghi, IAS on 13.08.2018 and discussed the matter relating to age relaxation and acceptances of experience certificates issued by the private schools for the post of PST and appraised him about the problems being faced by the candidates on account of age bar etc. 

After discussion, the Chief Secretary informed MP that the last date for applying to the post of PST has been extended for further 15 days and relaxation of age limit will also be allowed. Besides this, certificates issued by the private schools will also be accepted by the Education Department, so that the all eligible candidates can apply within the extended time.
