Port Blair, Nov. 12: The Bangla Joint Action Committee, Andaman & Nicobar Islands organised its ‘Bangla Sammelan’, third in series (including the organisational one) at Bhatu Basti Junction yesterday. Without paying a heed to the ongoing cyclonic weather ‘Gaja’ (name reveals from ‘WhatsApp’ communication), at least 3,000 persons belonging to Bengali community participated in the Sammelan.

In the open air space of Bhatu Basti Junction, many of them were standing clad with rain coats and holding umbrella over their heads.

The Sammelan was addressed by Bengalee intellectuals of A&N Islands including S/Shri Anadiranjan Biswas (Spokesperson/Media In-charge, BJAC), Prakash Adhikari (President, BJAC), Mahadeb Majhi (General Secretary, BJAC), Nripendra Nath Nag (Joint Secretary, BJAC), Apurba Roy (Joint Secretary, BJAC), Paritosh Kumar Halder (Little Andaman), among others.  Each and every speaker(s) delivered their speech (es) highlighting the rights as conferred to the Indian citizens under Article 19 (d), (e) and (g) of the Constitution of India as well as overall safety of all categories of Indian Bengalee living and/or earning livelihood in these Islands in legal/lawful manner.
