Port Blair, Nov. 14: On the occasion of Children’s Day, 30 Orphan children of Sevaniketan, Diary farm, accompanied by three teachers visited Coast Guard Ship Vijit as part of outreach programme conducted by Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association under guidance of Mrs. Mohita Pathak, President Tatrakshika (A&N) alongwith Defence Wives Welfare association. The children were given opportunity to see the newly based Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vessel and were briefed on various roles as well as capabilities of the Indian Coast Guard ships and its utility in these Islands. The children showed their keen interest in the Coast Guard operations for safeguarding our National interests around the Islands. On completion of visit the children were highly motivated and expressed desire to serve the Nation as good citizen at all times. The teachers who accompanied the student were also thankful to the authorities for arranging such a fruitful visit onboard Coast Guard Ship.
