Port Blair, Feb 18: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has recently launched the Scheme of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) for the benefit of farmers. Under this Scheme the farmers having less than 2 hectors agricultural land will get financial Assistance of Rs: 6000/- per annum, which shall be given in three installment with effect from 1st December 2018. Total 20000 Nos farmers have been identified under the scheme. Out of the total target of 15,000 farmers, the Administration has received only 4000 forms duly filled in all respect from all three Districts of A&N Islands.
Consequent upon that the Member of Parliament, Bishnu Pada Ray has appealed to all PRIs of the three districts of A&N Islands to expedite the action in personal level for implementation of the scheme and for submission prescribed forms of “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)” duly filled in all respect for enabling to released the first installment of Rs: 2000/- to each eligible farmers by end of this month and also to get the subsequent installment of RS: 2000/-from the month from March,2019.
