Port Blair, June 7: ThePresident, Andaman Nicobar Cricket Association (ANCA), Shri Mohamed H Jadwet met with President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Shri Sourav Ganguly, Jt. Sect., Shri Avishek Dalmia and other office bearers. During the meeting, Shri Jadwet, gave the members an overview of the A&N Islands, the current infrastructure for cricket and the steps undertaken by ANCA to foster cricket in the islands. He also highlighted the urgent need for development of an indoor cricket facility so as to allow budding sportspersons to play cricket throughout the year as the cricket season owing to monsoon is very limited. He urged the CAB to use their influence within cricket administration (BCCI) to secure funding for infrastructural development and affiliation of ANCA with national or regional cricket associations. 

The CAB was very receptive to Shri Jadwets’ concerns and understood the need to foster cricket in the isles so that the potential of the next generation of national and international cricketers in the islands can be actualized. Affirming their interest, Shri Dalmia stated that members of CAB will be visiting the A&N Islands to survey the current scenario of cricket and subsequently further the interests of ANCA.
