Port Blair, Aug. 31: The South Andaman District Special Police team comprising of ASI M. A. Rasheed, HCs Surya Narayan, Sanjay Kujur, PCs Ashish Mallick, Rakesh Toppo, Mohammed Imran and M. Raja Rao have arrested a person who was found to be in possession of over two kilograms of Ganja near Bengali Club bus stand. A case has been registered at PS Aberdeen under NDPS Act.

On 30th Aug, the team developed an information that one person namely Sanjay Biswas, resident of Nimbutala, carrying a black air bag is travelling on a SS Transport bus plying from Billiground to Port Blair and shall de-board at Bengali Club bus stand. Immediately, the above raiding team led by Insp. D. Jagdiswar Rao, SHO PS Aberdeen, under the supervision of Shri M.A. Naushad, SDPO (SA) intercepted one person while he de-boarded from the SS Transport Bus. Upon search of his bag, 2.245 Kgs Ganja was recovered. The accused was identified as Sanjay Biswas 36, Pvt. Mason, R/o Nimbutala near Helipad. The recovered ganja was seized and the accused arrested on the spot. Further investigation is on in the case, a communication from the SP, South Andaman District said here.
