Port Blair, April 19: Within 24 Hrs of the fire accident that took place at Safai Karamchari Colony, Delanipur on Friday, arrangements were made by theUT Administration to grant financial assistance to the victims. The Member of Parliament, South Andaman Deputy Commissioner, VK Bidhuri, Assistant Division Magistrate, Amit Kumar Pamasi and Councilor, Ward no. 3. K Ganeshan handed over the cheques to the victims amounting to a total of Rs 13,00,300/- on the occasion. The Tehsildar, Mr Mohammad and Patwari, Mr Sushil were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson, PBMC Shri M. Arumugam along with the Secretary, Shri Rakesh Bali and other officials of the Council had also visited the fire victims of Ambedkar Colony, Delanipur. The Chairperson inspected the site and met the family members of the fire victims and assured every possible help from his end. Further, he ordered the officials to take necessary arrangements for the construction of temporary sheds for the fire victims at the earliest. 

Arrangements have also been made for lodging and food for the victims at Multipurpose Delanipur Community Hall, Ratri Niwas and Delanipur Lodging House.  Shri K. Ganeshan, Councillor, Ward No. 3 has expressed gratitude to the Lt. Governor for the timely grant of assistance for the fire victims.
