Port Blair, May 25: On 20th May 2015, while on routine patrolling of the jurisdiction information regarding distillation of illicit/ spurious liquor at two villages namely Tamaloo and Arong of Car Nicobar was received. Upon this a team reached Tamaloo Village and recovered about 15 liters illicit liquor along with the materials used for distillation from the possession of a person named Faithful S/o George Tuhet Tukan, 30 yrs R/o Tamaloo.
Meanwhile another team of Carnicobar Police reached Arong village and recovered a running kiln along with 3 litres of illicit liquor from the possession of one Origin S/o Late Herry Tuhet-Province, 32 yrs R/o Arong village, Car Nicobar. On the same day while the raiding team reached Tamaloo village they recovered 15 liters of illicit liquor from the possession of one John S/o Shri Yohan Tuhet yonk, 56 yrs, R/o Tamaloo village.
The persons could not produce any licence/ permit for distillation/ selling the liquor and were arrested for committing office u/s 32 Reg. III of 1876. General public has been requested to provide information on illegal activities at Car Nicobar on PS Car Nicobar over Phone No. 03193-265242.
