Port Blair, Nov. 26: The Andaman and Nicobar Command has been conducting First Aid capsule courses for wives of Armed Force personnel with an aim to make them self-reliant and to utilise their services during natural disasters.  The courses have been conceptualised under the guidance of Vice Admiral PK Chatterjee PVSM, AVSM, NM, Commander- in- Chief Andaman & Nicobar Command. Two courses for ladies, one in Vijay Baugh and the other in Brichgunj have been conducted in Sep and Oct 15 so far and  66 ladies have been trained in these courses. 

As part of the ongoing First Aid capsule course, a tour of the Service hospital, INHS Dhanvantari at Minnie Bay was conducted for the ladies on 26 Nov 15. Mrs Nandita Kumar, President Navy Wives Welfare Association graced the occasion and inaugurated the tour. The ladies visited the Emergency Department, Out Patients Department (OPD), various patient wards, cook houses and dining halls and other areas concerned with up keep and maintenance of facilities.  They were informed on the routine working of the hospital and Bio Medical waste management by the Executive Officer of INHS Dhanvantari, Surgeon Commander Kamal Mishra.  Before conclusion of the tour, the ladies also interacted with the hospital staff.
