Port Blair, Jan 28: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators celebrated India's 75th Republic Day in a befitting manner at Corbyn’s Cove beach.

The President of AATO Shri. M. Vinod unfurled the National Flag which was followed by the National Anthem. Apart from AATO members, a large number of Water Sports Operators of Corbyn’s Cove, local residents, tourists and duty staff deployed at the beach took part in the ceremony.

Port Blair, Jan 28: A cultural program was organized by the Hope Foundation on the occasion of National Girl Child Day on Jan 24, 2024. The Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion, along with Shri Ravichandran, Ward Councillor of Ward No. 09 as the Guest of honor.

Addressing the audience, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma enlightened the importance of education, sports and motivation among girls. He added that girls are not behind boys in any field these days and that girls today are capable of doing everything that a boy can do.

Port Blair, Jan 25: It is a matter of great honour and pride for A&N Police that Six (06) of its officers have been conferred prestigious ‘President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service’ and ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ for their illustrious and unblemished service on the occasion of 75th Republic Day, 2024. The awards were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of the Republic Day, 2024.

Diglipur, Jan 25: In an unprecedented move, Superintendent of Police, Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, spearheaded a Multi-Faceted Outreach deep into the heart of the frontier overlooked border village on seashore of Indian water approx. 1hrs 40 min of walking distance traversed through dense forests and meandering creeks, from main road. This symbolic visit signifies a pledge to community engagement, people welfare, and transformative policing in the challenging terrains of North and Middle Andaman District. Situated in the border region, Kalapahar No- 27 village faces unique challenges including poaching activities and geographical isolation.

Port Blair, Jan 25: National Girl Child Day, an initiative of the ministry of women and child development, is celebrated every year on January 24th to spread awareness about the challenges that girls face. “Girls are the architects of change, and their dreams have the power to transform societies”.

In order to support and uplift every girl’s aspirations, Pankh organised a session that was held for the inmates of Bethany Home, Garacharma. A sketching competition to depict their dreams on paper for the girls at RGT Public School, RGT Road was also organised.
