Car Nicobar, Feb 28: Usha International Limited through its implementing partner Tribal Development Council launched 15 Silai School at Car Nicobar with the cooperation of Tribal Council Car Nicobar from 17/02/2023 to 27/02/2023 at Community Hall Chukchucha Village, Car Nicobar. The training was imparted to 15 tribal women beneficiaries representing one each from the villages of Car Nicobar Island.

The closing ceremony was attended by Shri Lionald Nicomed, Chairman Tribal Council, Car Nicobar as the Chief guest in presence of Guest of Honor, Shri L. Davidson GM EHL and Mrs. Emma Robertson, Lady Representative Chukchucha Village Car Nicobar.

The Chief guest expressed his happiness towards the effort made by USHA International Limited for uplifting the women status in society by providing such livelihood opportunities. He distributed the Usha certificates and free Usha sewing machines to the beneficiaries on successful completion of training to operate Usha Silai School from their respective villages.

Mr. Alok Shukla, Senior General Manager mentioned that Usha Social Service has partnered with Tribal Development Council to open Usha Silai School in Nicobar. In the current financial year 10 Usha Silai School are being launched in Teresa and we wish these 15 tribal entrepreneurs the best wishes on their new journey. Mr.Afzal Ali Anwar, Chief Coordinator of Tribal Development Council was appreciated for all his efforts in organizing the program very successfully.

Usha Social Service team jointly with its partner Tribal Development Council also provides hand-holding support to these women in such remote locations.
