Port Blair, March 6: Members of Tribal Council of Harminder Bay in Little Andaman, along with other residents of the Little Andaman recently expressed their concern to the Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, regarding the absence of direct scheduled ships for Car Nicobar from Hutbay.

Earlier, ships for Car Nicobar from Port Blair used to sail via Hutbay, which used to be very convenient for people of Little Andaman, especially tribal brothers and sisters in reaching Car Nicobar directly from Hutbay.

The lack of direct sailing has led to various problems for the local community, including students and tribal brothers and sisters of Little Andaman who have to travel to Car Nicobar for various needs.

According to the Tribal Council, around 18 to 20 students have to travel to Car Nicobar to write their exams, but in the absence of a direct ship, they are worried and disappointed.

In response to this concern, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma spoke to the Secretary of Shipping Services over phone and requested him to schedule a ship from Port Blair to Car Nicobar via Hutbay urgently, within the next few days.

Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma emphasized the urgency of the matter, and the Secretary of Shipping Services has assured him that a ship will be scheduled from Port Blair to Car Nicobar via Hutbay within the next three to four days. This will allow the students who want to write their exams in Car Nicobar to avail the direct sailing and also allow the general public to travel directly from Little Andaman.
