Car Nicobar, March 6: The Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, visited Campbell Bay. During the visit, he reviewed the functioning of Primary Health Centre, Anganwadi Centre, Amrit Sarovar works & GSS School along with AC, Campbell Bay, Tehsildar, BDO and other officials.

Shri Hari Kallikkat on his maiden visit to Campbell Bay after assuming the charge of Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District reviewed various projects and works at Campbell Bay. During the inspection at PHC Campbell Bay, he interacted with doctors and other paramedical staffs. He interacted with the patients also, and gave necessary directions for their wellbeing. Pharmacy counter, Laboratory, X-ray facilities etc. were also inspected.

Thereafter, DC visited the GSSS at Campbell Bay and interacted with teaching staffs, students and block resource persons. He motivated teachers and resource persons to create more enthusiasm among students and also directed to conduct summer vacation camps for students. Later, a Rudraksh sapling was planted on the school premises also.

Thereafter, DC inspected Anganwadi and interacted with kids and their parents. He enquired about the diet of kids, and checked the menu. Also, he enquired about the nutrition supplies to pregnant ladies from anganwadi. He also inspected Amrit Sarovar sites and gave directions to complete targets on time to APWD, MGNREGA team under RD and agriculture departments.

Later, he also visited Chingen area and inspected School and sub centre. The stock register was verified and motivated ANM and medical team to carry out more house to house visits.

The Deputy Commissioner held a meeting on 04.03.2023 at APWD Guest House with PRIs, Tribal Community, Fishermen Community, Govt Officials and other local representatives. He heard various issues raised by the local populace, and assured to take up the issues at appropriate level on priority basis. Later, he emphasized on completion of targets of various Departments by 31st March, 2023 and urged the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department to hold awareness camps more frequently, and spread awareness about government schemes. He directed to conduct medical camps at all locations including tribal areas.    Also, it was decided to conduct revenue camp courts regularly for speedy disposal of pending cases.
