Onge Tekrey, March 9: On March 6, 2023, the Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma visited Ongi Tekrey in Little Andaman and inaugurated a new shop of Consumers Cooperative Stores (CCS). The shop was opened in response to the request of the local people who faced difficulties in accessing rations due to the need to travel long distances.

During his previous visit to Hut Bay, the Member of Parliament was approached by the residents of Ongi Tekrey who shared the challenges they faced in getting their ration due to the lack of nearby shops. As there are 973 Tsunami shelters in the area, it was an issue that affected a significant number of families.

To address this problem, the Member of Parliament discussed the matter with the CCS and opened a new shop in Ongi Tekrey. The opening of the CCS shop will provide a much-needed relief for nearly 973 families who will no longer have to travel long distances to access their rations.

The inauguration of the CCS shop was warmly received by the local community, who expressed their gratitude to the Member of Parliament and the CCS for their efforts in addressing their concerns.
