Port Blair, June 9: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon'ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, seeking an extension of the deadline for uploading documents online for the Physical Education Teacher position in the Education Department. The request comes in light of the challenges faced by candidates due to adverse weather conditions and technical difficulties.

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament said that due to the recent adverse weather conditions in the Islands, a significant number of candidates have encountered difficulties in submitting their applications and uploading the required documents on the designated web portal. The limited and disrupted internet connectivity caused by adverse weather has made it nearly impossible for candidates to complete the online submission process before the original deadline of 8th June 2023.

Furthermore, as the deadline approached there was an unprecedented surge in online traffic on the web portal, leading to heavy congestion and functionality issues. This additional challenge, coupled with the already slow internet connectivity, significantly hindered candidates' ability to upload their relevant documents within the given timeframe.

In consideration of these exceptional circumstances, the Member of Parliament has formally requested the Lt. Governor to extend the deadline for filing applications and uploading certificates for the Physical Education Teacher position until the 16th of June 2023, providing a grace period of 7 days.
