Port Blair, July 14: The 17th Asian Schools Chess Championships 2023 begins in Tashkent, Uzbekistan today. R Kashthuri Bhai from Andaman & Nicobar Islands represents India as an official entry in Under 17 Girls Category.
The championship will be held for 7 days from 14th July to 20th July 2023 in three different formats viz the Rapid, Classical (Standard) and Blitz. The Rapid event will be held on 14th July 2023 followed by the prestigious Classical Championship from 15th to 19th July and culminated with Blitz Championship & Closing ceremony on 20th July 2023.
The top 3 players in each category will be awarded with Trophies, Medals and certificates.
Players from China, India, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan & host nation Uzbekistan are participating in the championship.
