Port Blair, July 27: The National Students’ Union of India State President Mr. M.A Sajid has demanded the Administration to extend the date for applying for the posts of PST and GTT as due to the downtime schedule of CANI-Submarine Optical Fiber Cable.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Mr. Sajid had notified the recent published online applications invited for the recruitment for the posts of Primary School Teacher and Graduate Trained Teacher under the Department of Education as the last date of submission of online application is given till 01.08.2023 (Up to midnight).

He has pointed towards the news published in The Daily Telegrams that the CANI Submarine Optical Fiber Cable (Chennai – Port Blair link) will be disrupted for 2 days i.e. on 28.07.2023 and 29.07.2023 due to ongoing construction work of Underground Metro Station in Chennai.

He mentioned that "due to this disruption in internet Services, many aspiring candidates will fail to submit their online applications on the above said dates”.

Considering the facts, Mr. Sajid has further requested to extend the last date of submitting online application for another three days i.e. up to the midnight of 04.07.2023 for the ease of candidates.
