Mayabunder, March 18: Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, DEO/DC, N&MA today held meetings with the Printing Press Owners, Political Parties on Election Expenditure, Media persons and officials associated with General Election, 2024 of N&MA District to brief them on various aspects of Model Code of Conduct and to review progress of election works.

In a meeting with the Printing Press Owners, the Chairman, Shri Dilkhush Meena, apprised the members that the Election Commission of India has enforced Modal Code of Conduct w.e.f. 16.03.2024 and as per ECI’s standing instructions, there is restriction on the printing of related pamphlets, posters during conduct of Election-2024. He, therefore instructed the press owners to print their firms/press name in the banners printed for political parties and provide the details of size of the banner(s), no. of banners (s) printed and the total cost incurred towards printing of banners by the political parties to the O/o the DEO/DC, N&MA invariably by following Section 127-A of RPA Act, 1951.

The DEO/DC, N&MA reviewed the progress of Election Works with the concerned AROs, AEROs, Sector Officers and Nodal Officers associated with General Election to Lok Sabha-2024 of N&MA District. All the concerned AROs, AEROs, Sector Officers and Nodal Officers have appraised the Chair about the progress of election works in their respective jurisdictions as on 18.03.2024. The DEO/DC, N&MA has requested all the concerned to expedite the pending works if any, related to elections of his/her jurisdiction by 25.03.2024.

During the meeting with the representatives of Political Parties, the Chairman elaborated on the legal provisions and instruction of the ECI’s on election expenditure and its monitoring.

The DEO while briefing the Mediapersons explained about the ECI’s instruction of Do’s & Don’ts during the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct and urged the media persons to adhere to the instruction of the ECI’s on MCC strictly.
