Port Blair, March 22: The students of Govt. Sec. School, Junglighat on 21st March 2024 visited Palm Grove Eco Resort, Port Blair and Bageecha, Port Blair- an initiative of Andaman Chronicle, on a field trip/ educational tour. The trip was a part of Vocational Education (Travel & Tourism) under Samagra Siksha.
At Palm Grove Eco Resort, Shri Shibu Varghese took the visiting students around the resort and explained the tourism aspects to enhance the knowledge of the students.
Later the students visited Bageecha, where Shri Denis Giles, Editor of Andaman Chronicle educated the students on the environment & ecology aspects of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The students were educated about their immediate neighbours, the aboriginal tribes, the state animal Dugong, Flora & Fauna of the Islands and the need to start adopting plants before we go for tree plantation drives.
The trip concluded with the students expressing their gratitude for the knowledge gained. Later the students were provided lunch sponsored by Palm Grove Eco Resort.
