Port Blair, June 10: The Directorate of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Andaman & Nicobar Administration under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) has commenced a comprehensive 3-days induction training programme for the newly appointed/promoted Extension Officers, Panchayat Secretaries, and Village Level Workers/Gram Sevika. The programme is aimed to empower the participants with essential knowledge and skills to enhance their contributions to Rural Development and Panchayat governance.

Port Blair, June 10: To undertake the responsibilities entrusted to the Road Safety Cell, the Directorate of Transport is organizing a full day Road Safety Awareness Camp at Community Hall, Manglutan on 13th June, 2024 from 9 am onwards. The camp will also include all the services scheduled by the Transport Department at the doorsteps of the general public which can be availed by the local residents of the adjacent area as well as the residents of the nearby Panchayats viz. Guptapara/Manglutan, Humfrygunj, Wandoor.

Port Blair, June 10: Heavy rain (7-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman Islands on June 11. Due to squally weather, strong surface wind with wind speed 40 to 50 kmph is very likely to be along and off Andaman & Nicobar coasts. Sea conditions are likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till June 13.

Port Blair, June 10: The Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration is going to organize a five-day hobby class on paper-mache craft and painting scheduled from June 18 to 28, 2024 at Andaman Club. Renowned artist Shri Mahananda Gomasta will conduct the hobby classes on paper mache as well as painting.

Port Blair, June 10: Commuters/general public/tourist have been informed that due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, keeping in view the safety of the passengers and the vessel, the announced sailing programme may get disrupted leading to suspension or cancellation in the Inter Island/Foreshore Sector vessels at short notice. Similarly, operation of Harbour/Vehicle ferry services between Chatham, Bambooflat, Dundas Point, Panighat & Phoenix Bay and out stations may also get disrupted/suspended in short notice depending upon the weather condition.
