Port Blair, Aug 10: In response to the pressing concerns voiced by residents and NH4 commuters, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has written to the Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways, urging immediate attention to the deplorable state of the Andaman Trunk Road (NH4).
In a letter addressed to the Minister, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the deteriorating condition of NH4 across various stretches in North and Middle Andaman regions has raised significant alarms regarding commuter safety and convenience. Many individuals relying on this crucial artery for daily travel have expressed their distress over the hazardous state of the road, which not only poses inconveniences but also jeopardizes public safety.

Port Blair, Aug 10: The Director General of Police, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS today visited the campus of India Reserve Battalion at Port Mout accompanied by Smt. Monika Bhardwaj, IPS, DIGP (L&O/IRBn). On arrival of the DGP, A&N Islands, an excellent “Guard of Honour” was presented by the IRBn Jawans. Subsequently, the DGP inaugurated the newly revamped model barrack, which got a major facelift to provide modern facilities to the Jawans who are discharging their duties at secluded islands with minimum basic amenities.

Port Blair, Aug 10: A delegation of Pradesh Youth Congress comprising of State President Ms. Diksha Dular & State Vice-President, Shri. Port Blair, Aug 10: CITU, Andaman & Nicobar State Committee welcomes the order issued by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration today (10.08.2023) granting the 1/30th of pay plus DA effective from September 2017 and thereby accepted the demand of the CITU and upheld the judgement of the Division Bench of the Hon’ble High Court on 19th December, 2023 in MA/09/2020 (Lt Governor –vs- ASNVMS).
