Port Blair, Aug. 9: In a stirring display of national pride and unity, the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign by the Port Blair Municipal Council commenced with a solemn pledge taking ceremony today. The event took place in front of the iconic Cellular Jail, a symbol of India's struggle for independence, and witnessed the participation of the Chairperson, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Vice Chairperson, Councillors, officers of PBMC and other people.

Port Blair, Aug. 9: In view of the Independence Day celebration on Aug. 15, 2023, it is hereby directed that all IV boats, plying from Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex be shifted from Aberdeen Jetty to Junglighat Jetty by 1700 hrs on Aug. 12, 2023 positively. All IV boats shall operate from Junglighat Terminal on Aug. 13, 14 & 15, 2023. Normal ferry service from Aberdeen Jetty will be resumed w.e.f. Aug. 16, 2023 (0700 hrs).

Port Blair, Aug 8: The Member of Parliament has raised the serious issue of the Power Crisis in Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the Parliament.
In a recent issue raised in Parliament, the Member of Parliament mentioned that Andaman & Nicobar Islands are currently facing indiscriminate power cuts which is having a significant impact on the people. These power cuts are occurring throughout the day, from morning till night, causing great inconvenience to the public.
