Port Blair, March 25: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr. Rangalal Halder on Thursday wrote a letter to the Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and requested him to grant permission for conversion/diversion of land.

Port Blair, March 25: On 24/03/2022 Shri. G. Sudhakar, IAS, Secretary, PBMC along with the officials of PBMC conducted an inspection at Brookshabad Dry Resource Centre, Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant & Bio Remediation works of the closed dumpsite. The officials informed that the various activities being done such as segregation of dry waste and wet waste & its further processing being done at compost yard for wet waste whereas a dry waste are further baled and transported to Mainland.

Port Blair, March 25: The State Level Technical Committee Meeting (SLTC) review meeting for fixation of scale of finance of various seasonal crops, vegetables, floriculture and fruits and fixation of scale of finance to KCC- Fishermen including finance to KCC- Animal Hubandry for the year 2022-23 was held on 24th March 2022 at 11:00 AM in the conference hall of A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd. Port Blair (H.O) under Chairmanship of Shri. Radhe Shyam Meena, DANICS, Director of Agriculture, Port Blair, A & N Administration.

Port Blair, March 25: The Revenue Department of South Andaman District carried out eviction drive against encroachments committed over Government land at Marine Hill in Port Blair Tehsil in South Andaman District wherein an area of 566 Sq. Mtrs out of Revenue land bearing survey no. 209, 50 and 16 has been removed and an area of 0.0566 hects of government land has been restored to its original status. The said encroachments were in the shape of temporary structures and RCC retaining walls were removed during the eviction drive.

Port Blair, March 25: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Rural Livelihood Mission attached to the Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs, A&N Administration is implementing DAY-NRLM scheme since 2015-16 with the aim to enable the poor households to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, resulting in appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis, through building strong grassroots institutions of the poor such as Self Help Group, Primary Level Federation (also known as Village Organizations) and Cluster/Block Level Federations.
