Port Blair, March 13: The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Port Blair, ANI has organised a one-day Seminar on “Contribution of Women Leaders in Modern Indian Society” to mark the occasion of International Women’s day on 11.03.2023, in JNRM College Auditorium. Dr. Poonam Arora, Ex-Chairperson, A& N State Social Welfare Board was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the programme.

Port Blair, March 13: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) on Monday held a protest in front of Gandhi Bhawan, Port Blair against Billionaire Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A heavy police force was deployed at Gandhi Bhawan to stop the protestors. The police also installed barricades to prevent the protesters from heading towards the Raj Niwas.

Port Blair, March 13: The Annual General Body Meeting of the South Andaman Teachers’ Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held on 11.03.2023 at the Auditorium of Tagore Govt. College of Education, Port Blair. Shri Ashok Kumar Tiwari, Vice Principal, Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Speaking at the Inaugural Session, Shri A.K. Tiwari urged the members of the Association to be united and fight for their rights through an appropriate platform and also told the members to work for the betterment of the society. He also expressed his concern on the decreasing number of students in schools while appreciating the efforts and hardwork done by the teachers during the Corona pandemic period.

Port Blair, March 13: The District Magistrate, South Andaman has notified for the information of all concerned that plying of Heavy Goods Vehicles on the main route i.e. from Brichgunj Junction to Brichgunj village road is prohibited with immediate effect till further orders.

Port Blair, March 13: Under the leadership of ANTCC President, Mr.  Rangalal Halder and ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker, the 'Hath se Hath Jodo’ campaign was organized in Rangat Bazaar on the evening of 11th March, 2023 during which party leaders reached out to peoples and made them aware about the failures of the Modi government. They also met PRI's of Rangat and raised issues concerning people of A&N Islands.
