Port Blair, July 11: With the support of the Directorate of Science & Technology, KVIC, Mumbai, the A&N Islands Khadi and Village Industries Board has successfully installed 10 spindle solar powered charkhas and semi-automatic solar looms in the District Jail, Prothrapur, Port Blair. This has been implemented under the field trials/dissemination/demonstration of 10 spindle solar charkha and solar looms technology of KVIC, Mumbai.

Car Nicobar, July 11: As part of the observance of 74th Van Mahotsav, tree planting programmes were conducted and celebrated by various Ranges under Nicobar Division wherein school children, teachers of GPS Campbell Bay, GPS Jetty Bazaar, Campbell Bay, GSSS Kapanga Mildera, Tribal Villagers of Car Nicobar headed by Chief Captain, Shri Lionald Nicomed, Tribal Council, Car Nicobar, Officials of BRO, Campbell Bay, Coast Guard, Campbell Bay, Army Land, Campbell Bay, PHC, Katchal, APWD, Car Nicobar, Tribal Villagers of Bada Enaka, Kamorta and Goal Tikrey, Kamorta, PRI members of Govind Nagar Panchayat, Gram Panchayat Campbell Bay enthusiastically participated in the planting of seedlings in various locations to celebrate Van Mahotsav in Nicobar Division.
