Port Blair, March 14: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,08,782 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,256 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 9335.

Port Blair, March 14: The Vessel M V Campbell Bay will sail for Vizag on 15.03.2022 at 1600 Hrs. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 Hrs to 1600 Hrs on 14.03.2022  i.e. one day prior to sailing of the vessel.

Embarkation of passengers will commence from 1400 Hrs to 1500 Hrs on 15.03.2022. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.

Ache Government Allege Indian Government Not Coordinating

Port Blair, March 13: Eight Indian fishermen hailing from Tamil Nadu and Kerala who were working in a fishing trawler owned by Shri Venu Gopal of A&N Islands were arrested by the Ache Government as they mistakenly crossed the Indian waters. According to reports, the arrest was made on 9th March 2022 and the Ache Government has been trying to connect with the Indian authorities but there seem to be no response.

Port Blair, March 13: The first Samir Acharya Annual Memorial Award function was held at Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair on Saturday 12th March 2022. The award was bagged by Shri Chanchal Singharoy, a government teacher who has been instrumental in educating the rural children to understand their surroundings better. The function was graced by Smti. Geetanjali Acharya, Smti. Pushpanjali Raju and Ms Samhita Veda Acharya among others.

Port Blair, March 13: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief General Manager of BSNL, Andaman & Nicobar Circle to sanction a mobile tower for Flat Bay, Bolcha, Bengali Basti and Ranchi Basti villages of Baratang Island so that these villages get proper mobile network and internet connectivity to ensure a better and safe future for these villagers.
