Port Blair, Jan 23: Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency during his visit to Lucknow called on Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Today being Parakram Diwas, Hon’ble Lt. Governor presented a memento made out of Rs. 75 Commemorative Coin, which was released by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during his visit to A&N Islands in December 2018 to mark the 75th Anniversary of hoisting of Tri-Colour for the first time by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Indian soil in Dec. 1943.

Rangat, Jan 23: On 23.01.2024, at about 01.25 am in the early morning, information regarding a major fire outbreak at Rangat Bazar was received at PS Rangat. Immediately Fire tenders from FS Rangat and Bakultala were moved to the spot. Noticing the worsen situation, more Fire tender vehicles from Fire Stations of Billiground, Kadamtala and Mayabunder were also diverted to reach the spot immediately.

During his visit, he interacted with victims who suffered significant losses in terms of livelihood, houses, and property. Subsequently, Shri Jolly engaged in discussions with the Deputy Commissioner of North & Middle Andaman to initiate appropriate measures for assessing the extent of damages caused to the affected families fairly.
